Words
Welcome back to Netil Radio Weekly,
It’s very nice to know that you care about Netil Radio. We’ve been working on a new project, and managed to skip last week’s newsletter 🤭 This week, we received lots of nice emails asking what happened and letting us know how much you look forward to receiving our newsletter. Thank you!
Nothing serious happened, we're just planning exciting things and the days are shorter than we need them to be. I’m already breaking the record for not having a day off, but I like it that way.
It looks like the beginning of summer is a set to be a repeat of last autumn thanks to the infamous Delta variant. The older population is now vaccinated in the UK, but more and more of our friends are at home in quarantine. Since March last year, only a handful of Netil Radio DJs tested positive, and none directly in our studio. In the last few weeks, this has jumped dramatically. Due to our responsible approach, none of the cases happened in our space and I would love to thank all djs for being amazing and patient.
This needn’t be a cause for panic – the reality is that we have to learn how to live with the virus, and all of you have to keep being amazing and strong. Here are a few tips on how to keep everyone safe.
The cheapest and fastest way out of this misery is the vaccine. Please get yours as soon as you can. Everyone has already been microchipped via smart phones for about a decade and it seems like we are enjoying it. Let’s protect ourselves before we see a variant which will change the vaccine's effectiveness.
Think twice about where you go to socialise. Try to avoid indoor places with no windows. If you want to have a beer with mates or dance, you’re safer outside. Wear masks in crowded places. It’s another simple and very cheap solution. Our egos can handle a piece of fabric making our ears look funny.
Most importantly - give other people space. Not everyone feels comfortable with hugs, and it’s much nicer to have space to dance.
Only together we can achieve the common goal - freedom.
That’s all from me this week. Scroll down for less politics and more music.

Eco Tips
This weeks Eco News from Lucy Bee of Recycled Sounds…
In Norway you get paid for recycling bottles and cans. They are often collected by the homeless. For this reason, many of Norway's trash cans have bottle holders around them so that people don't have to dig the bins to collect the bottles.
Other countries where you are paid to recycle include: Germany, South Korea,Slovakia and Sweden. Sweden started its famous bottle recycling system in 1984. It enables Swedes to drop off their empty glass or plastic bottles and cans at ‘reverse vending machines’ - which give out vouchers in return. In 2018, much later then Sweden the UK implemented its first single-use plastic bottles/drinks cans deposit return scheme in Canary Wharf. More info here
