Hello and welcome back,
One hundred and sixty three days. That’s how long people of Ukraine are dying, fighting for their lives, freedom and our democracy. While young Ukrainians are killed in their own country, young russians enjoying holidays in cool destinations. While Ukrainian djs are cleaning the rumbles of their cities, russian djs are getting booked for festivals again and pacifists are making remixes for them.
The emperor of an imaginary empire is weaponising energy, reducing gas flow and waiting for winter to hit. A German traitor went to meet him recently, to receive instructions of what to do to tear apart western solidarity with Ukraine. High energy prices as a result of the war continue to turbocharge inflation in the west, while keeping russian accounts filled with the billions of euros, Germany and others are still paying for russian gas and oil.
The blockade of Ukrainian ports has caused a food price crisis across parts of the Middle East and Africa, resulting in human misery and political chaos. And the global south seems to blame this at least as much on the West as on russia..
Western oil and energy companies are cashing up astronomical profits because of the war in Ukraine. With no sign of any will to contribute to society in crisis. Germany has lost by making bad decisions when it comes to renewable energy transformation and burning fire in their coal plants, still clinging on to an easy solution - Nord Stream 2. And we have no strength to stop this madness.
This is how we lose our freedom. Inconspicuously, only it’s because we don’t seem to care about reality and nothing is too much of a bother. We are not willing to fight for our freedom. We say the word “freedom” so often that we don’t know what it really means anymore. We scream “resistance”, but no one is in the streets…
But people of Ukraine do understand the true meaning of freedom and resistance. They fight for it. They fight, so we don’t have to. That’s why we should support Ukraine with all we have. Pressure our authorities to keep doing so. And us? We can start with listening to Ukrainian people living among us. Just listen to what they have to say. They are ordinary people who had to flee their homeland because evil is trying to flex its imaginary bicep. And Ukraine is willing to fight the evil for us.
For deep thoughts, you need a good soundtrack. You know where to find it.
