Hello and welcome back,
The golden times of Czech filmmaking, before communists started destroying it, gave the world many diamonds. The Princess With Golden Star was one of those not banned or hidden in the regime’s safe. I put aside my weakness for romantic fairy tales about a brave princess refusing to marry someone she does not love. But, every time I see our unelected PM in the news, the main villain – Kazisvet (World-wrecker) VI-th By God’s Will The King, comes to my mind. As the character’s name is telling us, competence wasn’t the skill he was gifted with. The comparison would be hilariously funny, but in combination with a total lack of morale in our “by God knows whose will” PM, it’s actually very dangerous.
In the normal world, there will be sensible political opposition to this. Sadly it’s not the case for today’s Labour party, working so hard to disconnect from its heart and soul – labour. Lucky for us, the corrupted and unelected bunch is not going to have the Christmas they hoped for. The man of the hour, Mick Lynch, became their Grinch. Not the way the propaganda portrays him as some might think. He’s not here to steal our Christmas. Mick Lynch is here to awaken the sleeping mass, so we can restore the balance. And I have to say, he seems to be the only one able to confront the government with reality. Watching him answer ridiculous questions in such a simple and powerful way is balm on my soul. Makes me believe that there are leaders able to understand their responsibility and see reality as it is.
We should do everything we can to support the wave of strikes coming no matter how much it will affect our comfort. Now is not the right time to be ignorant and selfish. It’s time to unite, it’s time to protest, it’s time to fight for our future. We need competent politicians to serve the country. We need an elected government. Especially when “by God’s will” in our case means the will of corporations, kleptocrats, incompetent fanatics and criminals hiding behind anonymous offshore entities.
It’s going to be a cold winter. Our bills will soon be incompatible with our wages and instead of wearing extra jumpers at home, we should make the winter extra hot for our politicians. There’s no need to burn the streets, but firepits warming us while we protest might look magical and Christmassy.
Thank you for reading and stay connected,
Miro
