Words
Hello and welcome back,
We are in the week between May Day, or International Workers Day as I remember, and Victory in Europe Day. In this week, every year, my mind brings all the memories from the alternative world I was born into, compared to the real world, thinking of parallels with today’s clash of realities. I was born into an alternative reality of communist Czechoslovakia, where the grass was greener, soviet soldiers were protecting the peace and the mountain spring water was naturally fizzy.
Every year we HAD to celebrate the International Workers Day. To make it awfully exciting, we came up with intense physical mass torture - Spartakiáda. It ticks all the boxes if you plan to manipulate the entire society hiding behind noble ideas. Celebrating the working class ✔︎ sport as propaganda ✔︎ entire society connected ✔︎ marching ✔︎ expressing superiority ✔︎. Sounds familiar? I’m sure you’ve seen it in history documentaries, or on telly not so long ago. The moment when Putin came out in a 10k+ worth jacket to speak to an excited crowd of “normal Russians” two months ago, it was exactly the same thing, only the sports part was missing. The letter Z was there instead. An alternative reality at its best.
While the whole of Europe celebrates the day of victory over fascism on 8th of May, it is always 9th of May in the alternative reality, where victory is still celebrated with an army parade. The anxiety I feel as we get closer to that date this year is reaching unprecedented levels. The emperor has to show he is not naked, which makes me worry about how he will celebrate the “victory”. Meanwhile in Europe, we are still not able to understand the key problem and the reason for it is that we live in a reality with different priorities. The time is ticking and we should do everything to protect our reality from the alternative one.
I hope you voted for your local representative yesterday, because it’s one of the tools we have to make sure our reality will actually have grass (not necessarily greener), doesn’t need soldiers to keep peace, and water is not poisoned from the destruction of… Everything.
Lots of love to SODAA CLUB and Slauka for perfectly executed takeovers last week, and mainly to all of you listening to Netil Radio and reading our weekly newsletter. We appreciate you 💙
Thank you and stay connected

New Music
E2-E8 boss Luca is not just a loyal record collector with great bandcamp tips, but also a label owner with amazing music coming out each and every time. You can pre-order his latest addition to the great music universe Orphic - Shelter EP on the label’s bandcamp, or in every good record shop / catch E2-E8 on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, 4-6pm
✧ Valentina Magaletti – La Tempesta Colorata ✧ Wonderful tape from our dear Valentina, just released by A Colourful Storm
✧ Black Merlin – DOTEDK ✧ George never puts a foot wrong. A master among local artists
✧ C. M. TONI – 1993 ✧ How could we not celebrate the return of Marc Mac's Omniverse Records. Even more so given it's a gorgeous six-tracker with some delightful house music. Smells and sounds like early 90s London – a city that rejected Thatcherism, just like today.
✧ Lu.Re is one of new members of our family. Her debut EP Ruminate is available to pre-order and out on 26th of May ✧
✧ ELLES, one of our early residents (for the balance) is dropping her first full length album A Celebration Of The Euphoria Of Life on the great naive label on 27th of May ✧
That’s all for this week
