Hello & welcome back,
A big thanks to everyone who joined us on Tuesday. DJs, listeners and especially everyone who bought the compilation. Volume two is up for grabs already and it's as good as volume one. A special thanks to Ceylan, who came down to the studio and helped to shape our perspective on the situation. We hope the pain will be compensated with systemic changes Turkeys need so much and the end of the war in Syria.
It’s all more clear than ever: the power across the world is corrupted, greedy and incompetent. If Gary Lineker compared the language in conversation to 1930-style Nazi language, he didn’t have to go that far in time. How do you think the imaginary emperor started to rape the idea of democracy in russia? How do you think the Hungarian prince kidnapped the state? Exactly as this government does. Slowly and subtly, using a steam roller that gets imperceptibly bigger each time while the tension rises.
Turkish turbocapitalism and institutionalised corruption didn’t want to accept the reality after the first big earthquake. What is happening in Syria is beyond words, but with advanced symptoms. The same symptoms thrive with the Tories’ government. As more incompetent plutocrats, the worst solutions for all the problems pilling up. Smart people say that power is as strong as society's weak. If people just go along with whatever politicians do, the power will crush the ideals our ancestors fought for.
I know. A general strike is illegal in the UK, which is extraordinary, and people can’t simply go on strike. But what about protest? Remember March against Brexit? Is life still too good to brush the dust on the “burn the tories” banner? To join striking NHS staff, and teachers, to stand up for your rights? While you can…
One day, we can wake up to the kingdom united in the darkest corners of hell, but I believe the good people will stop hiding in their comfort zone and accept reality. History has been written by ordinary people united against power and the end of capitalism is no different. I am sure the sound system used against Brexit is still working and we have more bass this time. The warm-up soundtrack of resistance is here.
Thank you for reading and stay connected
