Words

Hello and welcome back,

Is important to have a short break and we decided to have one last week. Thank you for all messages, everything is fine and we are back on track.

So many things happened in the last two weeks, that it’s hard to pick one and apply the element of sarcasm for your pleasure. While browsing through the deep corners of the internet, I couldn’t miss the pattern connecting all what's happening these days - there is a massive gap between two, very polarised parts of society. And the gap has characteristics of a black hole, sucking everything that's left in between two sides. The expanding “black hole gap” is changing our world to black and white, making all the colours disappear.

Anytime the society moved forward, it was only because we found common ground with those who had opposite views. We were able to have a conversation and due to mutual respect we could accept the existence of different opinions. It’s rare to see a meaningful conversation between two opposite ideas these days. UK for example - such a colourful country keeps choosing only red or blue. Everything between is more and more sucked by the black hole gap. It’s all there, but we can’t see it.

Labour supporters scream that there is not enough socialism, Conservatives screaming the opposite. Busy screaming, we are missing that none of the systems designed for the 20th century is compatible with the 21st century. Socialism in its most brutal form died painfully in the 90s, capitalism has been in a brain dead coma for the last two decades, and the only reason why it lasted longer is a tiny better perspective of freedom. And if both socialism and capitalism are dead, why are we still talking about them? Nostalgia?

The polarisation is forcing us to choose from less and less colours as we really can. All  this micromanagement of micro problems is shadowing the “full picture” perspective. Instead of manipulating someone to agree with us, we should inspire them to understand that having a different opinion is just another colour in the palette.

What do we choose? Black or white, blue or red? Democracy or autocracy?  Are we conservative, or liberal (whatever that means), or are we the future kind, using the best of both to create a new ecosystem from what we already have? The choice is ours.

Deep thoughts need a good soundtrack. To boost positive thoughts and open the mind wider, eleven out of ten doctors recommend listening to Netil Radio.

Thank you for reading and stay connected

New Music

NR team mega tip:

✧ Aboutface - The Water That Glows Like Dancing Glass Cuts Crimson ✧

Following on from his debut album ºs on AD93, conceptual artist Aboutface reveals his vaporous new LP, a vital climate emergency-themed project which utilises poetry collected from his dreams alongside sound recordings captured during polar expedition c/o the Alfred Wegener Institute - a centre for polar and marine research. Featuring long-term violin collaborator Taro and dream prose reciter Leyla Pillai, it explores a surreal intersection between the collective dream realm and the disappearing polar cryosphere.

Maybe Laura / Maybe? - 3rd Monday of the month 11am - 1pm

✧ Johnny Hunter - Dub Is King ✧ Robert James / Kolter - Planet Pusher EP ✧ Humble B Flat - Source of the Nile ✧

Great Curve’s Great BandCamp Dig / 1st Wednesday of the month 11am - 1pm

✧ DIDA - Ingenuous Scenes ✧

Rummaging through the archives for the weird and wonderful. A surreal sunshine picnic music. Don’t forget to bring your jelly beans.

Gabriel Hops / Snorkelling - 2nd Friday of the month 7 - 9pm

✧ Pontiac Streator - Select Works vol III ✧ Misty ambient tranquilisers from Pontiac Streator

✧ Kangding Ray - Ultrachroma ✧ Playful, vivid 140-160bpm sorcery from Kangding Ray. Especially love 'Mauve Deepens' on this because it sounds a little bit autonomic d’n’bish

✧ Ness - Flesh Of The Gods ✧ Beautiful, driving, trance-leaning deep techno from underrated Super Smash Bros character Ness
