Hello and welcome back to Netil Radio Weekly
We did enjoy our decent summer break and now, we’re ready to continue our mission.
Lockdown is over, and it’s been a proper rollercoaster. Studio, dj stuff, country, the world… Everything is upside down and it’s been hard to keep the track and emotions under control. Somehow I managed all of the above, got tanned, dreamy, but also kept the second breath and now it’s time to use my brain cells in a more compact way again.
We hope you all were respectful, sensible with mind wide open, while you enjoyed your summer. As winter is coming - the picture we are painting for ourselves is a little off-reality. All sensible countries still have important safety measures in public places, we are throwing all responsibility on vaccines. Event industry owned by nameless “investors” is failing to accept the importance of that only solution we rely on, biased by misconception of freedom. It’s weird to see conversation about covid pass, while most venues have been scanning IDs for years now. The lack of forward thinking and taking the pandemic as an opportunity to change old business models and adapt them to the new environment, elevated into surreal effects, exposes the gap between virtual world and reality.
It’s been very strange for an observer like me to experience the UK’s summer of love 2021. As observing also means discovering, I can see the light. Some parts of the community didn’t waste their time, and I can see the creativity and sense of responsibility being used the right way.
However messy the surrounding world is, here on Netil Radio you can always find something beautiful to keep your mind in balance.
That’s all from me this week. Scroll down for all “what’s going on” info

Body & Big / Brave - Leaving None But Small Birds
Peter Rocket - Esai (banger!!!)
EYA Records imprint LONEWOLF comes with Various Artists triple LP with tracks by London’s local heroes & beyond
Parris - Skaters World - “the lead single from his upcoming album Soaked In Indigo Moonlight and features a wonderful guest vocal from Eden Samara. A modern UK twist on the freestyle genre? Undoubtedly so, and Eden's vocals do really transcend the track. There's a handy instrumental version of 'Skaters World' included when you pre-order the album and shorn of Eden's voice, the track's innate rhythmic toughness is laid bare. Plenty of fun to be had playing around with both versions on some CDJs” - one of Tony Poland’s favourite tracks of the year. Tune in to his It Takes Time show this Sunday 4-6pm.
Eco News from Lucy Bee
Home sweet home? Turning your home into a battery just came closer to reality. Rechargeable cement batteries could allow for whole sections of multi-storey buildings to be made of functional concrete. Energy storage technology has a core role to play in meeting emissions reduction targets. A rechargeable cement battery that’s becoming a realistic possibility could change the way you store energy, turning the walls of your house into a giant battery. More happy eco news here
