Words
Hello and welcome back,
What a week! Our five day long birthday celebration was a blast - sending love to all those who tuned in, came down and played music. Netil Radio wouldnât be the same without you - Thank you.
The longest weekend of the year is here and you donât have to say the word âpartyâ twice on our island. Party. One of two things (beer as the second) the real Briton will die for. The last crown of the fallen empire might think itâs all about her, but deep inside she knows those times are gone and itâs all about... party - the genius distraction tool.
Brexit for example - one big party of those who need to hide the world's autocrats' dirty money, while learning the magical techniques of taxpayerâs money redistribution from public to hidden offshore companies, in barter exchange. Stolen billions, attacked institutions and absolute lack of skills were opposed by the biggest techno party ever in central London.Â
Pandemic - not so well adopted magical techniques are applied to reality via âgovernment contractsâ. If there were not already enough rules broken by some character within the government, they would find some more to break, just to hide the real problem of our society - corruption. Anytime something serious comes up, there is one partygate to control the conversation. Anytime you start to feel there is an opposition to all this, Kier comes, the hotstepper, and talks about... partygate.Â
Speaking of pandemic, WHO is warning that festival sites might cause issues with monkeypox. For a change. No wonder that the sun is being shy and the summer hasnât really started this year.
But donât worry, no party will stop and we will continue to exercise your brain with a different perspective on everything important, so you can relax and listen to Netil Radio.
Thank you for reading and stay connectedÂ

New Music
There's always good stuff getting released out here. Some of you will know about the Unizone label, and they've just released a cool new hard drum / industrial / hybrid bass release from Max Dahlhaus with some tasty remixes (& throwing a party at Bike Jesus on Friday 26 with mysel' goin' b2b with label head Ancestral VisionÂş).Â
Since this is the first of these newsletters i'll throw in their previous release too, definitely worth listening to the KMRU Remix from that, and their latest benefit compilation '4UA' (4 Ukraine). That last one is a brilliant place to listen to some of the harder music emerging from the local area, from Trauma from Wrong Collective to the Amphibian trancey stuff and more experimental producers like Oliver Torr & a rare track from Evil MedvĂŞd.Â
Mudaki is one of my favourite DJs out here (hardcore breaks & jungle tekno with the right ingredients) but she's also a very cool sound design person, working in this collective called
Phonon~. You should check her recent release here, but also go and listen to the Phonon~ stuff (try this live set they did for Noise Kitchen @ radio & cool person hangout place Punctum last summer - skip in to the 3 hour mark, the whole night's performances are uploaded).Â
Phonon~ have a 12-session show on Ma3azef (Oops! Netil's still the best) which I contributed a 1 hour mix to themed around the sound healing world out here in CZ, made from music by a few locals and includes some live excerpts and specially-recorded singing bowls.Â
Last one goes out to Genot Centre, who just released a WICKED new album from LDNer Klahrk w/ KAVARI. This label is a constant source of interesting new music so definitely go pluck out your faves from the rather massive library.Â
Misc
There's always stacks of events going on here (weirdly, I get event fatigue a lot more in Prague than London, there's always too much happening!), and big upcoming events (to maybe plan into a trip) include cool club Ankali throwing it's 5th birthday next month.Â
Lunchmeat Festival also announced their lineup for their next edition, from 26 September - 2 Oct, with some names that'll be familiar to listeners of this "electronic music" thing, like squarepusher or TSVI or Blackhaine or others. Ancestral Vision will debut his liveset too, which nicely sums up the column for this month.
Thatâs all for this week
