Words
Hello & welcome back,
We have now entered “last show of the year!” month and the pressure on social media to post creativity is intense, mainly due to the limited options to combine words in a sentence. But I guess it’s nothing compared to the struggle of the crooks trying to escape the weight of reality through an amateur attempt to change democracy to something more authoritarian. ‘How dare the people protest in times of crisis! In the time of the war! Nurses are playing in hands of putin!’
Well, it’s surreal, but we get this when we are too apathetic to choose actual reality instead of the alternative one. I’m pretty sure that most of the nurses are working for the poor NHS, elbow-deep in reality, but I'm not so sure if all Conservatives are working for the country or foreign oligarchs and corporations.
I’m pretty sure that every striking entity has same wages for the last ten years, despite the prices of everything being tens of per cent higher than a decade ago. I’m not so sure about the profits of the unelected government, their family members and corporations because it’s all hidden in anonymous offshore accounts. And when it comes to who is working for putin, I don’t think that there is any other democratic country in the world with that much oligarch’s money integrated into the economy.
And while we are choosing the best albums, counting imaginary likes and “summing up” the year about to end, we should keep in mind that there are lots of people struggling, the government is off the chain, one of their sponsors is killing innocent people and we are financing it by buying his fossil fuels. While all this darkness creates a perfect opportunity to save the planet, we are just swapping one dictator for another, opening new coal mines and giving away licenses to destroy the environment.
What a world we live in! But don’t worry - Summing up the year, is a perfect opportunity to dream a little and prepare for the wave of strikes, hopefully, a snowy Christmas and the next general elections where we can exercise personal responsibility for our collective future. The suitable soundtrack is here.
Thank you for reading and stay connected
