Hello and welcome back,
Hope you enjoyed Shimmy’s editorial last week and made plenty of notes. I’ll be easy on you this week…. How is your tan coming along?
Big 💙 to everyone who came down to Netil Market last weekend to celebrate the 4th year of our box of love and unity. Djs, friends and strangers singing “Happy Birthday” with us on a sunny Saturday afternoon was a delight. Massive shout-outs - to IONA for joining us with an amazing set full of energy, all the weekday DJs finally experiencing weekend vibes! S/o’s - to Luca & Avsluta for keeping the torch overnight until early morning; DJ Winggold and Blake for early morning sessions; Van Dyke Browne for forgetting to put his record bag in the car, so I had to do “a bit of everything” selection from my trusted collection, which ended up as a very enjoyable B2B. More S/o’s go to DJ Aya and her B2B twin Harras for a late Sunday set which took us into an imaginary club we all dream about; Entebbe Soundsystem’s Ras P & Tuffie Irie for joining extended 4h long Hackney Dub Club and EddyB and his Neighbourhood Cotch fam for closing the weekend so smooth. You can find all the amazing sets HERE.
This week I realised a beautiful happening within the Netil Radio family and wanted to extend a BIG hug to all the radio mums and soon to be mums - Heather, Slauka, Amrisha and Demetra for being so amazing and for always making meaningful contributions to our programming - It's an incredible feeling and we can’t wait to have these future talents in the studio! Slauka - started the movement last month, having her son in studio for the first time 🙃
We have a few interesting things cooking in our ideas-kitchen, so stay connected.
With love
Miro

Purple Hands - Intimate Fades - High Priestess Recording
What a treat this is! I fell in love with this release and the label after witnessing the spectacle that is Purple Hands perform live. Keep tuned with High Priestess Recording as they seriously have their fingers taped to the pulse.
Leather Rats - No Live 'Til Leather '98 - Bokeh Versions
Bokeh Versions meet Leather Rats... A 90s punk-psychobilly tape that reveals a recording of Leather Rats playing to their huge Japanese following. Why hadn't I heard of them, eh? Pure rat food that I will never grow tired of here.
V/A - Pentrich Rising - Industrial Coast
You can't find something not to love in here. A gargantuan digital compilation spanning from teenage bedroom folk to weapons-grade jungle. Courtesy of Industrial Coast back in April in their pursuit of raising funds for the Red Cross in Beirut. The compilation is unfortunately no longer available but you can support the artists directly.
Naffi’s guest Rosie Holloway has a new album and you can catch her in conversation with the man next Tuesday 1-3pm
StrettoBlaster sent us a few links too!
Check Terrasolare - Italian-owned London-based label with a terrible penchant for good music . Their first two releases on 7” inch are somewhat incredibly good
and worth of mention also the magic behind Jancro - East-London own reference for lovers rocks and roots reggae. Latest release from Cornell Campbell is worth a mention
