Words
Hello and welcome back,
Fifty newsletters ago, we hoped that the idea of a weekly info package full of links to new music, our community activities and thoughts, together with my sarcastic rants about the state of society and politics, will substitute the fallen concept of social media as tool for communication and interaction with You - our listeners, fans & community. The tool social media promised to be a long time ago, before they realised that it’s easier to manipulate us for profit as to fulfil their promises. Although they probably never really planned to be that magical tool.
Fifty newsletters later, I can only say that it was one of the best decisions we’ve made since the pandemic changed the world. We don’t need any marketing strategy templates, we don’t need any third party handlers of AI algorithm mysteries telling us when and how to publish our content, regardless of our ideas, or business model. In reality all of these tools are designed to harvest data, take control of content and make profit from it. It’s literally a product designed to make money from money with no value to society, using the worst emotions inside us to profit. For example - Meta will stop taking down the pandemic misinformation, just because “we are more relaxed about it now”. How bad it must be, if they are not able to control content without their business model falling apart?.. asking for a friend.
Fifty newsletters later, we can say that we are in charge of the content, time and strategy. We know that you are listening, reading, clicking on links and interacting without the obsessive focus on imaginary “likes”. Our content is not lost in the noise of information, created by algorithms filled with wrong tasks and no one is “suggesting” us when, or what time we should do this and not do that. Best - we will never appear in your email if you don’t want us to, because we don’t have to pay anyone to force you to follow us.
My heart goes to all djs and presenters contributing to this effort, inspiring others to join. Creative potential of the Netil Radio community is incredible and I believe that our weekly letter of love will guide you on the journey to discover its full potential. We can only promise to let this newsletter evolve into something good for you, good for the community, and good for society. You didn’t know you needed it, it feels good to be a part of it, and we love you for it.
Thank You!
